This is Part 1 of SEGMENT 16 of the series, where we take a look back at the "Graffiti Bridge" era in Prince's career. I have REALLY been enjoying the last few episodes since 1988-1991 is my favorite era for Prince in a lot of different ways. It has been fun and enjoyable, and I'm sure you will pick up on that while watching. That may be why this episode had to be broken into 2 parts. Also, we are looking at a movie, an album, and a tour all in this episode, so there is a lot here to cover.
In the episode, Prince begins casting the "Graffiti Bridge" movie and makes some interesting choices. Prince wants to re-unite with "The Time" for the movie and begins to put together his new band "The New Power Generation". Prince also picks up a couple of new proteges as he prepares for shooting.
There's a lot here in this episode, but we will leave off as Prince concludes recording the album and shooting the movie. Pt 2 will pick up there and take us into 1991.
As usual, the episode contains numerous clips and scenes from the "Graffiti Bridge" Movie, as well as rare interviews with Prince’s band members and studio staff.
