If you remember back from SEGMENT 10 “Around the World in a Day” of "The Ritualistic Life and Murder of Prince" series, you will know the backstory on this album and its hits. I would encourage you all to re-watch that almost 3 hour 2 part-episode as a refresher. However, Prince would not perform music from this album often, since the only big hit was "Raspberry Beret", which became a staple of Prince tour sets through the years, as you will see in this episode.
This album did contain some "fan favorites" like "Paisley Park", "Condition of the Heart", "America", "Pop Life" and "The Ladder", which Prince did perform sporadically through the years. I managed to find a couple of live clips of these songs though.
As with most of the 5 Prince series currently running on the channel, this series started as a "MUSIC XTRA" of "The Ritualistic Life and Murder of Prince" series. However, viewers loved this live music only episode so much, I created "The..." Music Through the Years series that is ONGOING on the channel.
As with all the episodes in "The..." Music Through the Years series, these are multi- hour live episodes where we will watch Prince perform his hits over and over through the decades and Prince's dozens of tours. You will see Prince perform these hits over and over, again and again in different arrangements, with different bands, and various venues. But if it's one of your favorite Prince songs or albums being performed, I'm sure you won't mind.
Some footage was professionally shot by Prince, some were shot by venue staff, some by concertgoers. Some footage is over 30 or 35 years old, some are newer clips from the years right before Prince's death.
