This is the long-awaited next episode of the "Ritualistic Life and Murder of Prince" series, Pt 2 of the SEGMENT 16 on The "Graffiti Bridge" era and the "Nude" Tour of 1990. This is a 2 hr 45-minute episode, making it one of the longest episodes I have ever made.
Picking up in Pt. 2, Prince is preparing for the upcoming "Nude" tour of Europe and Japan, while trying to finish up editing "Graffiti Bridge". Warner Brothers, not satisfied with Prince's edits, keeps rejecting it, forcing Prince to cancel dates on the tour and postpone in order to have time to complete edits to the film. Prince, under pressure and stressed engages in spats with band members, resulting in some permanent changes.
Prince begins to evolve his sound to attract younger fans and becomes interested in rap and hip hop, and his sound begins to shift in the 1990s. Prince also must contend with former manager Steve Fargnoli and his artist Sinead O' Connor and their success with "Nothing Compares 2 U" a song Prince wrote in 1985 for his side group "The Family".
On the "Nude" tour, Prince meets first ex-wife Mayte Garcia when she is only 16 years old. We examine the "publicized facts" of the meeting "cover story" and discuss the discrepancies and downright lies that have been told over the years. We will be discussing Prince and Mayte for the next few episodes, so this is just an intro to how they first met.
But...around that time, Prince also meets Tara Leigh Patrick, aka "Carmen Electra" and they begin a personal and professional relationship. Graffiti Bridge bombs, ending Prince's movie-making career, and Prince begins opening his "Glam Slam" chain of clubs in Fall 1990.
As usual, the episode contains numerous live concert and television footage as well as rare interviews with Prince’s band members and studio staff.
-10 Unreleased Prince tracks from the episode posted for Patrons of the “Lovesexy” Tier and higher.
