In this latest installment of "The Ritualistic Life & Murder of Prince", we look at the "Sign O' the Times" era. In this episode, we pick up in Fall 1986 post The Revolution break-up as Prince goes forward with a new band.
Prince puts together a triple album "Crystal Ball", but is forced by his label to cut the project down to..."Sign O' The Times" a double album instead. Prince and Susannah Melvoin break-up for good, and with The Revolution gone as well, Prince falls into a deep depression, taking it out on those closest to him.
Several new Prince projects are recorded, released, and shelved, and Prince decides on a concert movie rather than a tour of the US in 1987. A chance meeting in a Minneapolis nightclub on December 1, 1987, leads to Prince canceling the release of "The Black Album" and embarking on a second spiritual awakening.
This episode is 2 hours and 20 min long, due to the large number of live clips and interview footage included. The last 20 minutes is a long live clip of the Finale of the 12/31/1987 benefit show at Paisley Park, where Miles Davis and Prince share the stage for the first and only time.
-7 Unreleased Prince tracks from the episode posted for Patrons of the “Lovesexy” Tier and higher.
-“Hard Life” film (Mis-directed by Prince) posted as OUTTAKE XTRA
