OUTTAKE: "The Melvoins, Sheila E, and Prince"

Released on Patreon 10/29/2018
Run Time: 1 HR 11 MIN

-This OUTTAKE is posted for Patrons of the “Controversy” Tier and higher.

In this OUTTAKE, we will take a closer in depth look at The Melvoins and Sheila E.  The reason for this is that at this point in Prince’s story, the “Purple Rain” era brought some significant “players” into Prince’s life in terms of love interests, that we will see some 30 years later will resurface and step into the public eye, “claiming” their importance or significance in Prince’s life after Prince’s death in 2016.

First we look at The Melvoins, or Wendy Melvoin (guitarist in The Revolution) and her twin sister Susannah Melvoin (Prince’s girlfriend and purported fiance) and their roles at this time.  However, we can’t even begin to discuss The Melvoins without first discussing Lisa Coleman, Prince’s keyboardist since about 1980.  If you review the past episodes, you will see that there was a bit of a “domino effect” in terms of who came into Prince’s life, in stages, through the years until they are all entrenched in Prince’s life firmly by the time we get to the “Purple Rain” era.

Lisa Coleman was the first to come into Prince’s life, since she was working in Cavallo, Ruffalo, and Fargnoli’s offices in L.A. when Gayle Chapman left the “Prince” Band in 1980.  In past episodes we looked at Lisa’s gematria coding, and noted reasons why The Managers, sent Lisa to Prince, at the age of “19” to join Prince’s band.  We look at Lisa’s background and discover that her father was part of the fabled “Wrecking Crew”, a group of Los Angeles studio musicians, that played on some of the biggest hits of the 60s and 70s.

Then, that leads us to discuss The Melvoins, since Wendy and Susannah Melvoin’s father, Michael Melvoin was also a part of the “Wrecking Crew”, so his children Wendy, Susannah, and their brother Jonathan all grew up with Lisa Coleman and her siblings.  Let’s also note that Michael Melvoin became the President of the Recording Academy in the 1980’s

We talked about in Part 2 and Part 3 of the series, how Warner Brothers Records, The RIAA,  The Recording Academy, and The Grammys are all the same entity. And the Melvoins and the Colemans are also “connected” to the Los Angeles music enclaves that we talked about in a past OUTTAKE.

So putting all these pieces together, we can also understand that it is also not an accident that Wendy Melvoin and Susannah found their way into Prince’s circle, by way of Lisa Coleman in 1983, when they were both “19” years old.

And on a side note, Wendy and Susannah’s brother Jonathan Melvoin and Lisa’s brother David Coleman, were also brought in to the circle and worked with Prince.  Jonathan Melvoin died of a heroin overdose in 1996, when he was the keyboardist for The Smashing Pumpkins, and David Coleman died in 2004 of an enlarged heart.

We will also take a close look at Sheila E’s background and story.  Sheila grew up in the business, and had been indoctrinated and under mind control since childhood.  It’s no accident that when Sheila was “19” her father and uncle told her about a “young kid who was making his first album, writing, producing, singing, and playing all the instruments” at The Record Plant in Sausalito.  A few months later, she found a promotional poster of the “For You” album and became obsessed with the album and Prince, saying to herself every night, “I will meet you someday”.

We will take a look at Sheila’s gematria coding as well, and uncover some of the reasons for this “off and on” relationship, and why Sheila seemed to keep popping up in Prince’s life through the years.  Then at the end, I will share some information about these 2 women: Sheila and Susannah, that Prince shared with me about his life with them and their actions and the stories they told in the media after his death in 2016.
